SMV Recruiting, LLC is currently looking for a tenured Director of Cash and Collections for a great not-for-profit healthcare organization I Syracuse, NY.  Our client is seeking an energetic, polished and driven leader who has experience creating very efficient and well-oiled teams. This director level role is with a growing team and is a terrific opportunity to “have a say” and make an impact! Candidates must have a strong background in AR with Medicaid and Medicare billing, 5+ years of healthcare industry experience with a large organization, 3+ years supervisory experience and strong leadership skills. This role oversees business operations of a growing healthcare group- so you must be very strong at multitasking and presenting to large groups. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees entire patient billing cycle including: posting cash, Medicare and Medicaid billing, business to business collections and business to individual collections, bad debt, underpayments and compliance, etc.
  • Assists with system implementation and developing various reports
  • Create efficiencies within the group and build a cohesive team of 20 – 25 staff
  • Develops employee objectives and oversee productivity
  • Collaborates with the revenue cycle team
  • Identifies revenue cycle indicators
  • Develops and implements improvement strategies for cash collections, bad debt and underpayments

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS Accounting/Finance or Associate’s degree with 10+ years relevant experience
  • Expert knowledge in Medicare and Medicaid billing and other 3rd party medical payers
  • 5+ years of experience in either a hospital, large nursing home, physician practice or other acute care facilities
  • Experience supervising 5-20 staff members
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to be flexible with changing needs and deadlines
  • Ability to multitask and perform in high pressure environment
  • Solid understanding of healthcare revenue cycle, payor contracts and applicable rules and regulations affecting reimbursement for healthcare services
  • Excellent computer skills including accounts receivable, admissions, discharge and transfer, and patient accounting system experience and Microsoft Office
