Job Description
A PRIVATE PRACTICE
dedicated to providing womens health services
is expanding and needs to add an OBSTETRICIAN GYNECOLOGIST / OBGYN to its staff.
The practice provides the state-of-the-art gynecologic, obstetric, and primary womens health care with a personalized and caring touch. The beautiful new office space features over 7800 sq. ft., including three dedicated procedure rooms for performing the following in-house procedures: LEEP, colposcopy, endometrial biopsy, Hysteroscopy,Cryoablation, Sonohystograms, Urodynamics, Pelvic Floor Therapy, Essure sterilization. The practice location offers direct access to state of the art Maternal/Fetal ante/postpartum care, with the Kienzle Family Maternity Center being one of the premier Level 3 Neonatal facilities in the region. In addition to this hospital, there is also access to the SUNY Medical University and University Hospital, the regions only Level 1 trauma facility, with over 25 specialties and active teaching programs for medical students and residents. We have a current complement of three board certified physicians, one board eligible physician. Actively recruiting at least one mid-level, and has approximately 20 clerical/clinical staff members. The beautiful new office space features over 7800 sq. ft., including three dedicated procedure rooms for performing the following in-house procedures. There is a full-time ARDMS Certified Sonographer, Certified Bone Densitometrist, and a CLIA approved lab. The practice office is connected to the admitting hospital facility and out-patient Ambulatory Surgical Center.
* HOSPITAL AFFILIATION: PRIVILEGES will have to be obtained at two (2) local hospitals which are less than two (2) miles apart.
* LOCATED in the center of New York State, the City of Syracuse is in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region near Lake Ontario and Lake Oneida. A short distance from Rochester, Albany, Canada, the St. Lawrence River, the Adirondack Mountains and the Thousand Islands. There is a large selection of year round sports which includes many snow skiing and summer resorts and many tournament class golf courses. There is a Casino with regular scheduled Las Vegas quality shows and concerts.
This metro area has 156k people living in the city and 456k in the county. There is an international airport with direct jet service to most major cities in the US. High quality education available. There is a large selection of inexpensively priced private schools. Some schools, both private and public, are nationally renowned for their academics and sports programs. There many colleges and universities in the region with Division One ranked football, basketball & lacrosse programs. The community is ethnically diverse with many churches of varied denominations, synagogues, temples and mosques. There are private theater groups, museums, a symphony orchestra, many good restaurants to choose from and a regional IMAX Theater and Science Center.
The job market is high tech in nature with health care research, a teaching hospital, a large pharmaceutical manufacturer and many engineering companies such as Welch Allen and Lockheed Martin to name a couple. There are many highways and very low traffic congestion. Home prices are extremely inexpensive, as well as apartments, as compared to national averages.There is a rapidly expanding regional shopping mall located in the heart of the city with seventeen (17) stadium tiered seating cinema theaters. The region has many rolling hills and lakes. Moderate summer climate with average temperatures in the mid to high 70s. Seasonal climate changes are colorful. Low crime rate.
*** CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSE: BE or BC OBGYN with s
ub-specialty experience, such as urogynecology or infertility, is a plus. Application of or possession of a NY OBGYN license.
*** STARTING DATE (Approximate): As soon as possible. Prefer Fall/Winter 2009.
*** COMPENSATION: Base Salary plus incentives will be at a minimum of $200k the first year and this is without any specialization work. The average income for each physican in the group of four (4) full-time OBGYN physicians is 480k. The range is 300k to 600k once partnership has been obtained. **NOTE: Sub-specialty experience, such as urogynecology or infertility, adds an additional stipend to the base salary.
* WORK HOURS: Office hours are Monday through Thursady, 8:00am to 4:30pm. THIS IS A FOUR (4) DAY WORK WEEK.
* CALL SCHEDULE/ COVERAGE (Description): Average 1 to 2 nights per week. Current call 1x 5 or 1 x 6 weekends per month.
* CASELOAD: Four (4) patient days per week with one day as an administrative day with no patients. Average caseload is approximately 25 to 30 patients per day.
* PAYER MIX CHARGES: Payer mix is approximately 85% commercial (BC/BS, Pomco, Aetna, MVP, etc.), 12% Medicare, 2% private pay, <1% Medicaid. Current average charges vs. payment reimbursement is at 41% of billed charges.
* CONTRACT EMPLOYEE/ PARTNERSHIP: Contract employee base salary and productivity bonus potential, with partnership opportunities available after the end of the third (3rd) year of the contract. Partnership opportunities with increased leave and remuneration potential can be accelerated sooner, if appropriate.
* QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: General OB/GYN, advanced laparoscopy and urogynecology would be highly preferred (large referral base), Infertility experience is also highly desirable.
* EQUIPMENT: Hysteroscopy, LEEP, colposcopy, cryoablation.
* JOB DESCRIPTION: Essure sterlization, Her Option Cryoablation,
LEEP/colposcopy, hysteroscopy, urodynamics, pelvic floor therapy, sonohysterograms, ultrasound, bone densitometry.
* BENEFITS:
